• Ban Zhao (Pan Chao) was born in the provinces.
• Zhao was also in the emperor's court as a
  historian and editor.
• Lived in the Chinese Dynasty.

  for three generations with the Chinese court.
• Her father, a well-known scholar who had begun
  the Han Shu, died when she was around eight years
  old.
