• Ive chosen the African wild dog, because I like
  dogs and I thought it would be interesting.
• Wild dogs used to roam much of Africa, but many
  people thought they were worthless and wanted to
  kill them all.

Description

• The African wild dogs look like a regular medium
  sized dog with scruffy fur.
• They weigh between 37 and 80 pounds and are 24-30
  inches tall.
• They have beige, brown and black spots on their
  fur.
• Their ears are round.
• They only have four toes intead of five, like
  other dogs and wolves.

Habitat

• Wild dogs live in the African grasslands and
  woodlands.

Diet

• They hunt in packs, because they can get more
  food and that keeps them safer.
• They hunt in the morning and at dusk.
• Their legs help them hunt, because theyre long
  and fast.
• They usually eat wildebeests, rabbits, gazelles,
  lizards, and vegetables.

Babies

• In the pack only the lead female can have pups.
• A group of pups is called a litter.
• They usually have 7-10 pups.
• They nurse for five weeks.
