• EMMA - THE EUROPEAN MULTISERVICE
• METEOROLOGICAL AWARENESS SYSTEM
• The EMMA project started from an idea and
  initiative taken by the WGCEF (Working Group on
  Co-operation among European Forecasters), and
  after a Workshop on an integrated European
  Graphical Severe Weather Warning Display, it was
  accepted as a EUMETNET project by the EUMETNET
  Council on its 16th Meeting, the 13th of
  September 2002.

• The EMMA system is a contribution of the
  meteorological community to European risk
  management.
• The aim is to allow a user in any nation,
  requiring any European language to be able to
  view and understand a warning message.
