2What is a Podcast?
- A combination of the words iPod and broadcasting
(Vodcasting video ipod broadcasting). - Podcasting is a method of publishing files to the
Internet, allowing users to subscribe to a feed
and receive new files automatically by
subscription. - A podcast is RSS content that youve subscribed
to and is delivered via the Internet. - A podcatcher program such as iTunes is then
used to display the podcast content aggregator
3Do I need an iPod to Podcast?
- No, you do not need an iPod to Podcast or even
use iTunes. - All podcast files are encoded as mp3 files, the
most universal format for listening on various
devices. - You can listen to each podcast using almost any
computer application - iTunes automatically subscribes to the Podcast.
- Media Player, Real Audio Player, WinAmp, and many
others. - You can download and burn mp3 files to a CD so
you can listen in your car or at home on your
stereo. - Transfer mp3 files to any portable media device
like the iPod or other mp3 players - even mobile
phones.
4What is the advantage of Podcasting?
- You can listen a program during a time and at a
place most convenient for you. - You can selectively subscribe to audio and video.
- Media is automatically delivered.
- Casting deliverable media for convenience.

- It is not simply a web-based audio,
- or web site to downloadable media
