- GDP registered robust growth of 8.4 in FY06
(9.3 for the 4th quarter of FY06) - BSE Sensex registered correction of 21.6 as of
June 16, 2006 from its peak of May 10, 2006
triggered by both local and global factors.
However the Sensex has risen by 10.7 in last 2
days from its month end low closing on June 14,
2006 - The correction in the Indian market was in tandem
with the global markets - FIIs were net sellers of 1.63 billion USD and
Mutual Funds were net buyers of 1.75 billion USD
of Indian Equities in May 2006 - Inflation rose to 4.72 for the week ended June
03, 2006
