Phases of the Moon

• The first phase of the moon is the New Moon.

The next phase is when the moon is a waxing
(getting larger) crescent.

Next is the first quarter phase of the moon.

Then comes the waxing gibbousphase of the moon.

Now the moon goes into the full moon phase.

The moon begins to wane (get smaller) with the
waning gibbous phase.

The moon moves into the last quarter phase next.

Then we see the moon in the waning crescent phase.
