Directions to and from Church

E
We suggest you stop somewhere before arriving
at the church as there are no toilets at or
near it. There are some pubs on the way and a
service station at junction 8 of the M11
D
Please do not arrive at Tower Bridge before 6.45
as you will not be able to get in! There is a
Starbucks, two little cafés, The Dickens Inn
and a hotel in St Katharines Dock
3 mins walk from the Bridge
on the North Side of the
river and Shad Thames
bars etc. on the
South Side if
you arrive
early.

directions 1 4 Then B1039 from Wendens Ambo
take left turn to Arkesden. (see direction 5) At
T junction turn left, pub on right.
9. Church on left Park on grass verge but not
right outside church or lytch gate please

8. Turn left at T junction
7. Turn right into Bridge Green
6. Turn left up a small road signposted
Duddenhoe End
5. Go through Wendens Ambo (you will pass Audley
End Station on your left, and a little later The
Bell pub does food) Keep on the B1039 veering
sharply to the right if going to the
church (take the left turning on the corner
signposted Arkesden if going to Axe Compasses
pub)
Axe Compass to church Out of Pub Car park
turn left, straight up road bearing left at the
fork towards Duddenhoe End. Travel for 2.5
miles approx (very twisty) Do not take left
turn into Duddenhoe End village. Take next left
into Bridge Green (no clear signpost) and follow
the directions 8 9 on next map
4. Just after a little roundabout and opposite
the Fighting Cocks Pub turn left onto the B1039
towards Royston and the station
3. Keep on the B1383 through Stansted
Mountfitchet, Quendon and Newport
2. At the 2nd roundabout take 3rd exit, B1383
towards Newport
1. Leave M11 at 1st exit of Junction
8/8A (Bishops Stortford and Services) Take the
A120 W towards Bishop Stortford Stopping at the
services if you need to!)
Services here closest public toilet
Getting to Church early will avoid the
disappointment of restricted view seats!
There are no toilets at or near the Church -
apart from a few bushes!

9. Church on left Park on grass verge Before

or fresh are fine.

1. M11 South towards London Do not take M25 at
junction 6 stay on M11
2. M11 Narrows to 2 lanes (slow to 50 as there is
a speed camera)
3. The road splits in two take Left hand fork
A406 South (A 12, A13) There are speed cameras
all over the place between here and Tower Bridge

4. Join the main carriageway towards Ilford
Barking docklands A406
5. At the big roundabout over the A13 go almost
straight over following A1020 City Airport and
Royal Docks (McDonalds on your Right) (Dont go
down A13 as always lots of traffic).
6. At next roundabout take last exit to Right
A1020 signed Silvertown, City airport, Custom
house, Excel
7. Straight over 3 roundabouts and then get in
Left hand lane. Follow signs to City Ariport do
not go under big Excel sign
8. At Connaught Roundabout turn Left to City
Airport, Silvertown over a bridge, City Airport
is on your left
9. Next roundabout go straight over towards
Blackwall tunnel and The City
Directions from M11 to Tower Bridge
10. The next roundabout is North Woolwich
Roundabout turn Right (the Docklands Light
Railway runs alongside this road on the left)
11. When you see the points of the Dome take the
Left off ramp towards Isle of Dogs and Blackwall
tunnel
12. At roundabout take 2nd exit Left to Isle of
Dogs and Blackwall tunnel (A13)
13. At big roundabout take 2nd exit (almost
straight over) to The City (A13) Canary Wharf and
Isle of Dogs This is like an on ramp and you
want to get over to the Right hand side as soon
as you can towards The City and Tower Bridge

14. Stay in Right hand lanes towards Tower
Bridge, Wapping A1203
15. Go down into Limehouse Link Tunnel (30 mph
only very active Speed Cameras)
16. Past St Georges Swimming pool on Right, Past
a Texaco Garage on Left, Saab Dealership on Left
Getting really close now
17. When you see Iron Railings on your left and
Oddbins on your Right you are going to take the
next Left at the traffic lights into Vaughan Way
. Big Waitrose sign on the wall in front of you
as you turn. now look for a parking space or a
single yellow line- reference your invitation
map..
