What is V-campus?
  • Micro Soft SharePoint, adapted for college use.
  • Usually found in the business environment, and
    used for project management.
  • An easy way to create a class website, with
    options for personalizing the look of the website.

Why use V-campus?
  • Provides access to course materials on or off
    campus (syllabus, handouts, ppts and other media
    linkslike Lavonnes Camtasia video captures) as
    well as post announcements.
  • Makes it possible to share documents and work in
    teams.
  • Creates opportunities for teacher/student and
    student/student interaction with the use of
    discussion boards.

What can you do with V-campus?
  • Post class documents
  • Create discussion boards
  • Post announcements (weather, illness, change of
    schedule, special events)
  • Link to email addresses (list of members)
  • Users can use their own MYSITE to store documents

How to find V-campus
  • Go to the HCC webpage, located at
  • http//www.hawkeyecollege.edu
  • Go to Online Services from the navigation bar on
    the left-hand side of the screen
  • https//vcampus.hawkeyecollege.edu.
  • There will also be a link from the new MY HAWK

How to log on to V-campus
  • Use your regular college logon and password to
    log on (the logon is the same as your email, such
    as Jd12345s_at_hawkeyecollege.edu)
  • So this student would use jd12345s and his or her
    password.
  • STUDENT MUST FIRST USE THEIR HCC E-MAIL ACCOUNT
    BEFORE GOING ONTO V-CAMPUS!

Caution
  • Students must have used HCC email before using
    vcampus.
  • The first time you use your HCC email, you type
    the same thing for the logon and password, and
    are then prompted to change your password.
  • V-campus does not allow you in if you do not have
    a unique password (different from the logon)
