  • Public Relations is managing the communications
    of a company to create and maintain a desired
    image in the public eye.

    company-to-client level and extend onto the
    company-to-media level. The media is a tool that
    a company can utilize to communicate its messages

    determined/created, it is PRs job to get the

  • 4) To reach the correct demographic for brand, it
    is extremely important that a PR representative
    determines appropriate outlets to reach out to
    and stays in constant communication with these
    outlets.
  • 5) Everyday editors are working on new stories
    and rely on public relations specialists to help
    create them.
  • 6) Published stories live on forever. In
    todays world, people rely on search engines for
    easily accessible information and
    research, so it is extremely important that your
    companys name and success is communicated
    and stored so that it can live on for years
    to come and thus be continuously bringing in new
    clientele.

Public Relations vs. Advertising
  • Many people are afraid to commit to a long-term
    PR program, because results are not instantaneous
    and it often seems much quicker and easier to put
    out an advertisement to get the company name out
    to the public.
  • The downside to that, is that an advertisement is
    not able to tell a story or create a third party
    perspective.
  • Through the use of PR, a reader that comes across
    the company name by reading a story where the
    company is positioned as an expert, is much more
    likely to trust the third party source than an
    advertisement that they know was paid for by the
    company.
