25Operation Cleansweep
- Carried out May 2006 on Pallister Park
- Area had significant environmental problems,
criminal damage, fly-tipping, arson, unkempt
gardens etc - Open spaces littered with rubbish broken glass
the usual
26Operation Cleansweep .
- Week long intensive programme of all relevant
services focussed on the estate with additional
events. - Included Police, Fire Service, Erimus Housing,
Council Streetscene abandoned vehicles,
horticulture, street cleaning,

- Youth bus, Community Payback, ASB and
Environmental Enforcement Officers, Dog chipping. - Community events gardening advice, hanging
baskets, poster competition, treasure hunt,
sports event, healthy living

- Following week, crime fell by 50
- No incidents of criminal damage or deliberate
fires. - 3 weeks after reduction of crime of 42
- Full evaluation available.
- Subsequently awarded Green Apple award for
environmental best practice.
