Title: PLAN OF WORK
1PLAN OF WORK
2007 - 2011
2Background The POW Task force was formed to
facilitate the design of a new and relevant
5-year Plan of Work for Cooperative Extension
which will serve the needs of Maine people in a
manner consistent with UMCE's mission and its
role as the major component in the University of
Maines Land-Grant mission to improve the lives
of the people of Maine. We approach this task
mindful that it marks a point of change for UMCE
and our staff, but welcome the opportunity to
mark the rhythms of change in Maine, and re-focus
our priorities accordingly.
3- A Vision for the Task Force
- The Plan of Work Task Force will work to
facilitate and communicate an inclusive process
for creating a Plan of Work that supports UMCEs
efforts to identify, address and evaluate
programs that meet the real educational needs of
the people of Maine and the region within our
available resources to do so, using established
practical and philosophical process from New
Directions for a New Century as our guidance,
while valuing and supporting new and existing
connections between the University, Extension,
research, and other partners.
