Description

• My sea creature ,the swordfish, has a long,
  flat and sharp upper jaw called the bill. He
  doesnt have any teeth. But he has a dorsal fin
  on top and a pectoral fin on bottom. His belly is
  off-white. The swordfish has large eyes. He also
  has a crescent-shaped caudal fin (tail). The top
  of a swordfish is gray-blue to bronze.

Habit/Region

• My sea creature lives in tropical ,
  subtropical, and temperate seas, from the surface
  down 400 or 500 fathoms.

Food and/or Prey

• My sea creature eats squid, octopus, fish, and
  crustaceans. Their predators are orcas, sperm
  whales, some large sharks, and people eat
  swordfish. It swings its bill to catch its prey.

Interesting Facts

• The swordfish, xiphias gladius, is a
  fast-swimming fish that has a long, sharp bill.
  Swordfish may swim up to 60 mph(100kph). Their
  life span may be about nine years. He or she has
  large eyes. The biggest swordfish are about 14.5
  ft (4.5 m) long

Life Cycle

• Female swordfish produce tens of million of eggs
  and fertilization is external. All of the animals
  that are living under water is cold blooded.

Conclusion

• I learned that the swordfish has no teeth and
  that he or she is a fast-swimming fish that has a
  long ,flat. and sharp bill. I also learned that
  the swordfish is cold blooded
