14Personalization
- Post your introduction first and make it
personal!
Just a bit about myself to add to the
introductions. Like most of the people I have met
here, I am not from Atlanta. I hail from Indiana,
with degrees from Purdue and Indiana
Universities. Since I have logged over twenty
years in Georgia, I do consider myself as close
to a native as possible. I have taught at GPC
since 1993 at both Lawrenceville and Clarkston
campuses. Besides my online classes, I also teach
face to face full and half semester classes and
hybrid classes. I knew since eleventh grade that
I wanted to be an accountant. I feel fortunate to
not only have that drive early, but also to have
not lost that passion and desire so many years
later. My husband, Dean, and I just celebrated
our twenty-four anniversary. Our sons, Nick and
Brandon, are the joys of our lives. Nick, sixteen
years old, is a junior taking honor's and AP
courses. He even had an online class last year!
Watch out...he has his drivers license. Brandon,
thirteen years old, is in eighth grade in the
gifted program. We have been blessed with
wonderful kids, in and out of the classroom. They
both sing in the advanced high school chorus and
just returned from singing at the Winter Festival
in Prague, The Czech Republic during Christmas
break. If we acquire more animals, we might need
a zoning permit as a zoo. The rest of our family
includes Reggie, a Sheltie, Buster, a Jack
Russell terrier, Midnight, our precious cat, a
parakeet named Dinner because of the feline, and
a drawf hotet rabbit, Snowman. My free time is
spent teaching Algebra and Geometry to a couple
of home schoolers, helping/reviewing homework
with our children, church, travel, snow and
water skiing, golf, four-wheeling, watching
baseball, and spending time with my family in
anyway they want.
