So what is an outline?
  • An outline organizes information.
  • An outline helps you decide the order in which
you will write the information you want to
    include in your research paper.
  • An outline provides you a pattern to follow when
    you write.

5
So how do you make an outline?
  • Decide how you want to organize your information.
  • Explanation?
  • Description?
  • Chronological order or sequence?
  • Compare and Contrast?
  • Youll have to decide an organizational strategy
based on your topic and the information you found
    on your topic.

6
So how do you make an outline?
  • Look at your organizing grid.
  • Think about how you want to arrange the
    information you gathered.
  • What is my organizational strategy? Decide.
  • In what order will I use the information I
gathered? Number the rows in your grid.
