• He was a part of the Continental Congress. He
  signed the Declaration of Independence.

The main idea

• Thomas Lynch was the 52nd person to sign the
  Declaration of Independence. His attempt to be
  elected to the Common House of Assembly of
  Charleston resulted in failure. In 1774 he was
  elected to the First Provincial Congress of South
  Carolina from Saint James Parish.
