12interdisciplinary medical sciences
13complex nature of diseases
Genes, Behavior, Diet/Nutrition, Infectious
agents, Ecology, Society, ???
14medical education
JHU medical education curriculum reform ? genetic
paradigm
15The interplay of genes and proteins and
environment is entirely unique for every patient,
so the physician's challenge is to understand the
variability of the genetic and environmental
factors that lead to disease, try to craft a
prevention plan, and, if necessary, a treatment
plan based on the patient's unique variability.
And then to be able to evolve that plan over time
as new information is added.
