AANA Foundation

• The mission of the American Association of Nurse
  Anesthetists Foundation is to promote and fund
  research and education endeavors that advance the
  nurse anesthesia profession.

Research

• General Research Grants
• AANA Foundation Grants are designed to assist
  CRNAs conducting research. Interested
  individuals must submit a grant proposal. Grant
  applications include a tiering of topics to
  reflect critical research areas which are
  established by the AANA Foundation annually.
  Grant proposals may be submitted at any time.
• Research Scholar
• The importance of outcome studies has been a
  thrust for the AANA Foundation. The need to
  conduct these types of studies is vital to
  support anesthesia modalities. To promote this
  type of research, a priority for funding research
  up to 25,000 was established.

Research

• Program Directors Outstanding Student Researcher
  Award
• This award is presented to a senior nurse
  anesthesia student (or group of students). Each
  nurse anesthesia program has the option of
  submitting nominations for the award (PDOSR
  Award). The award recognizes outstanding student
  work in research.
• Researcher of the Year Award
• This award is presented to an individual who has
  made a significant contribution to the practice
  of anesthesia through research. This award
  recognizes the commitment of individuals to the
  advancement of research that furthers the art and
  science of anesthesiology and results in high
  quality patient care.

Research

• Student Research Grants
• Awards such as the Dean Hayden Student Research
  Grant and the Richard Ouellette Student Research
  Grant are awarded to students conducting original
  research that will advance the the nurse
  anesthesia profession. Applicants must be nurse
  anesthesia students in good academic standing and
  membesr of the AANA.
• State of the Science Oral and General Poster
  Presentations
• At the AANA Annual Meeting, students and CRNAs
  present research findings as part of the
  Foundations State of the Science program. The
  Foundation funds researchers with especially
  exciting findings to give oral presentations in a
  special session at the meeting.

Education

• Student Scholarships
• The AANA Foundation Scholarship Program is
  designed to help nurse anesthesia students and
  CRNA graduate students pursue their educational
  goals. The scholarship program is funded through
  donations from individuals, state associations,
  and corporations. Basic scholarship criteria
  require that an applicant is currently enrolled
  in an AANA accredited nurse anesthesia education
  program and a current AANA member, though
  additional criteria may be specified by
  scholarship sponsors.
• CRNA Scholarships
• The AANA Foundation offers several scholarships
  designed especially for CRNAs returning to school
  for an advanced degree.

ProfessionalDevelopment

• Workshops
• The AANA Foundation sponsors a variety of
  workshops to answer the need for focused
  education sessions. Examples of workshops funded
  by the Foundation include Spinal and Epidural,
  Upper Extremities, and Financial Issues.

Fundraising

• Annual Giving
• donate once a year to the AANA Foundation. You
  can donate a lump sum, or make a pledge and send
  in payments. The Foundation accepts cash,
  checks, and credit card donations. Annual Fund
  donors are recognized throughout the year in AANA
  and AANA Foundation publications.
• Recurring Gift
• provide your credit card information, and the
  Foundation can process a monthly or quarterly
  donation. You pick the amount no hassles, no
  stamps! Recurring gifts are donations to the
  Foundations Annual Fund.

  join a special group of Foundation supporters.

Fundraising

• Scholarship Sponsor
• With a 1,000 minimum contribution, you can name
  a scholarship and set basic criteria. Sponsors
  are invited to the Student Luncheon at the AANA
  Annual Meeting.
• Endowment Fund
• Donate a minimum of 25,000 to establish a named
  fund that will generate interest for an annual
  scholarship or research grant.
• Special Event Sponsor
• Donate funds or items to receive name/product
  placement at AANA Foundation special events, such
  as the AANA Foundation Annual Golf Outing.
• Annual Meeting
• Participate in one of the AANA Foundations
  Special Event Fundraisers, drop of your Annual
  Giving donation at the Foundation Booth in the
  Exhibit Hall, and purchase our annual 10
  keepsake item all profits support research and
  education programs!
