Purpose of the project
  • To promote clinician participation with the aim
    of optimizing patient involvement in their
    healthcare through the use of My HealtheVet
    (MHV).
  • This project was part of the VISN 8 2007
    Competency Development for Leaders in the 21st
    Century Program.

Why is this critical?
  • VISN 8 is one of the leading VISNs in number of
    veterans registered for MHV (36,688 registered as
    of March 31, 2007)
  • We must improve clinician use of MHV better serve
    our veteran population

Methodology
  • Consulted with national MHV experts and VISN 8
    MHV points of contact
  • Conducted a survey of VISN 8 clinicians to
    determine their familiarity with MHV and the
    needs for further training
