Computing Cluster Update

• Acquired system in fall 2005
• Expected to have facility ready by early 2006
• Construction estimates have escalated from about
  150K to over 300K
• Are seeking other ways and places to house and
  operate the system
• Now in an SE lab, but not enough power or AC to
  run all nodes
• May break it into two units and house in
  different SE rooms
• Possibly will move the system and some
  faculty/staff to AOL Building in UNF gets it
• Yes, it does work and some research is occurring

Major Initiatives for 2006-07

• Complete proposals for engineering MS degrees
  (and possibly for BCM MS)
• Continue to assess potential for CIS PhD
• Prepare for ABET accreditations
• Continue to pursue major gifts for CCEC
• Complete CCEC branding first phase study and
  develop supporting documents
