11Computing Cluster Update
- Description of system at http//www.unf.edu/ccec/d
ocsint/20060421/index.html - Acquired system in fall 2005
- Expected to have facility ready by early 2006
- Construction estimates have escalated from about
150K to over 300K - Are seeking other ways and places to house and
operate the system - Now in an SE lab, but not enough power or AC to
run all nodes - May break it into two units and house in
different SE rooms - Possibly will move the system and some
faculty/staff to AOL Building in UNF gets it - Yes, it does work and some research is occurring
12Major Initiatives for 2006-07
- Complete proposals for engineering MS degrees
(and possibly for BCM MS) - Continue to assess potential for CIS PhD
- Prepare for ABET accreditations
- Continue to pursue major gifts for CCEC
- Complete CCEC branding first phase study and
develop supporting documents
13Thank you!!
