  • Six Things Spoken of in the Preface
  • 1. The earthly ministry of Jesus Treatise of

  • 2. The 40 days - The assurance that Jesus was
    alive
  • 3. The kingdom of God
  • 1) It was not earthly
  • 2) It would come with power
  • 4. Wait for the promise of the Holy Spirit

  • Today we begin with 112
  • 12. Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the
    mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a
    Sabbath day's journey.
  • 13. And when they were come in, they went up
    into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and
    James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas,
    Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of
    Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the

    16. Men and brethren, this scripture must needs
    have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the
    mouth of David (Ps. 419) spake before concerning
    Judas, 17. For he was numbered with us, and had
    obtained part of this ministry. 18. Now this man
    purchased a field with the reward of iniquity
    and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the
    midst, and all his bowels gushed out. (Mt. 275)

Qualifications for An Apostle

  • Vs 4 THEY (the apostles) were all filled with H.
    Spirit
  • Spoke in other tongues as the Sp. Gave THEM (the
    apostles) utterance.

Concerning the Miraculous Power of the Baptism of
the Holy Spirit
  • The miraculous power of the baptism of the Holy
    Spirit was a promise, not a command 14
  • It was promised only to the apostles 12
  • It was given only to the apostles. !5 512
  • They could transfer it by laying on of hands
    817-18
  • Those who received it by the laying on of hands
    could not pass it on. 814-18
  • When the last man died who received it by the
    laying on of hands, the miraculous power ceased

  • All will need the Spirit for their called walk of
    life in the Spirit
  • The indwelling of the Spirit is A gift.
