    African Languages, and Eastern European Languages
  • Recent Work Browsing university web sites.

    sites to explore majors that students would be
    interested in.

  • 10 computers with access to the Internet and
    Microsoft Word
  • Floppy disk for each student
  • Printer

Procedure
  • Day One Pre-computer activities
  • Students have already been browsing university
    web sites.
  • Discussion of students interests
  • Discussion of different majors offered at
    universities
  • Explain the objectives of the activity

  • Day One Pre-computer Activities
  • Discussion of the short report that each student
    is to share with the class students are to
    write about the majors that they are interested
    in and why they are interested in these majors.
  • Discussion of how students are to be
    evaluated/assessed.

  • Students will work in pairs.
  • For each class, students will switch partners
  • By switching partners, students will be exposed
    to the different interests of one another.
  • Explain to students the benefits of helping each
    other working cooperatively

  • Students are to narrow their research to specific
    majors that they are interested in.
  • Students will begin to collect information on
    majors that they are interested in.

    information on specific majors that they are
    interested in.

  • Students will use MS Word to begin writing their
    short reports.
  • Students are to work on their reports for
    homework.

  • Students will check each others short reports to
    help with any corrections or suggestions.
  • Students will print their revised versions.
