investment on city infrastructure in 2000 was 10
times higher than in 1990 - In 1990, the infrastructure investment-to-GDP
ratio in China was 6 percent. By 2005, this had
increased to 13 percent. During the same period,
public infrastructure in the United States was
around 4.5 percent of GDP.
