• It is the worlds largest fresh water turtle.

Characteristics of Alligator Snapping turtles

• There color is carapace brown or gray with 3
  knobby ridges.
• The head is large with a strongly hooked beak
  and rather long tail.
• Its said to be more sedentary than its relative
  the snapping turtle, and is larger than the
  snapping turtle.

Habitat and Food

• This hefty reptile feeds on worms and other
  kinds of turtle.
• When catching food it wiggling its worm like to
  tongue to lure in the bait.

• The turtles habitat includes lakes sloughs and
  deep rivers.
• They can only be found in North America and in
  the southern eastern tip.
