25Tips for the Artifact Library
- Try to save all of your text documents as .htm or
.html files. These are better than Microsoft
Word documents (.doc) or .txt documents because
they will open directly in your e-Portfolio and
do not require whomever views your e-Portfolio to
have Microsoft Word or other software. - Remove spaces from the names of the files you
upload. Files with spaces can be unpredictable
and may not be viewable in certain Internet
browsers. - For images, use .jpg, .jpeg, or .gif files.
These are smaller than .bmp, .png, or .psd
files. They can be viewed quickly and in any
Internet browser. - For images, try to keep them under 100K. Images
under this size can be displayed quickly no
matter what sort of Internet connection speed the
person who is viewing your e-Portfolio has. - For audio or video files, be aware that they can
be very large. It is best to also provide a
transcript of what is in the files so that people
with slower Internet connections can still get
the information that is in the files.

- Go to the e-Portfolio Home Screen by clicking
Return from the top menu bar (Do NOT click on
Back within your internet browser.)
