28Conclusions
- Old South Baton Rouge has a rich social and
architectural heritage which deserves better
recognition. - One effective way of recognizing this heritage is
to preserve sites and places of importance. - That may be accomplished at no cost to the
community through nominations to the national
register of historic places. - We have recommended some possibilities, but it is
you, the members of the community, who must
decide how preservation fits into your long-range
goals. - You must determine what to preserve, and how much.
