Purpose of the Trip

• Assist missionaries that are accountable to our
  church
• Encourage our people to consider full time
  Christian service as their vocation
• Encourage our members to sacrifice for the sake
  of the gospel
• That God might use this trip in shaping the lives
  of our members

Goals Faith Objectives

• Goals
• Be conformed to His death
• Lay hold of Christ
• Press on toward the goal
• Faith objectives
• Learn to consider others as more important than
  ourselves
• Learn to serve others and die to self

What will we do on the trip?

• VBS is a possibility if we go in late July or
  early August
• Sports clinic
• Construction clinic may be possible
• There is an ongoing project there that we may
  help with
• Plays and/or drama
• Tutoring
• Math and English (Offering a computer class in
  Excel or Word is also a possibility)
• There is flexibility we need to decide what we
  want to do and then plan for it and coordinate
  with the Matthews

Who will go on the trip?

• We are likely limited to no more than 8
• Minimum of three chaperones
• Only those who demonstrate a consistent walk with
  God will be allowed to go on the trip
• Will need to participate in at least 4 evangelism
  Saturdays with pastor and/or me
• Will need to commit to daily devotions and prayer
  accountability sheets

When will we go on the trip?

• Proposed dates are early next June (immediately
  following school)
• 8-22 Jun

Key assignments

• Logistics (airline tickets, ground
  transportation, passports, visas, immunizations,
  etc)
• Fundraising
• Ministry Coordinator (Determine ministry we will
  do and develop practice schedule or assignments
  as necessary Conduct a session on cultural
  awareness)
• Ministry leader (Coordinates with Matthews)

• Select initial candidates December 08
• Determine ministry January 08
• Finalize candidates April 08
• Procure airline tickets April 08
• Passports, visas and immunizations May 08
• Mission trip June 08
• Report to the church July 08
