What makes a Good Presentation?
  • Some Dos and Donts
  • Organization
  • Content
  • Flow
  • Delivery

9
Do and Dont - Organization
  • Do have an Overview slide at the beginning
  • Do have a Summary slide at the end
  • Do use short bullet phrases
  • Dont write long complicated sentences or
paragraphs as if you were writing a term paper!
These can be difficult for your audience to read
and they will lose interest. You expand on your
    bullet phrases as you present!

10
Do and Dont Content
  • Do balance the amount of text you put on each
    slide
  • Do use a consistent Font size
  • Do use spellcheck to avoid mispeelings

11
Do and Dont Transitions Effects
  • Only use automated transitions where they aid the
    flow
  • Limit the number of different transitions you use
    - be consistent!

12
Do and Dont Transitions Effects
  • Avoid slow transitions unless youve got a lot to
say while you wait for the bullet to appear!

13
Do and Dont - Backgrounds/Images
  • Do use a consistent Background
  • Use images and clip art in moderation
  • Do use charts and graphs

14
Do and Dont - Backgrounds/Images
  • Avoid dark background with a dark text color
  • Dont let images or clip art obscure text!

15
Do and Dont - Delivery
  • Do use notes for reference
  • Do talk to your audience
  • Do not read your slides
  • Do not read your notes
  • Do not talk to your slides
