Who is Petron?

• Founded in 1968 by two Mobil Oil employees in New
  Berlin, Wisconsin.Art Klenner and Bill Buck.
  Each had worked for Mobil for more than 20 years.
  Started with 5 employees.
• Sold to West Chemical Products Inc. in 1982. West
  Chemical is a privately held company with
  majority shares held by the Woody Phares family
  of Princeton New Jersey. Petron remains an
  independent subsidiary of West Chemical Products.
  
• Petron in 2003 had annual sales in excess of
  16,000,000. We have 35 employees.

Who is Petron?

• Our facility in New Berlin Wisconsin is 58,000
  square feet. We have 32 mixing and storage
  kettles with a total capacity of 211,000 gallons.
  We ship product throughout the world from our
  facility.
• Petron started out as a designer and manufacturer
  of specialty lubricants for a regional market
  place. Namely metal working and machining in the
  Milwaukee Wisconsin area with customers like
  Briggs and Stratton, OMC, Evinrude, Gehl,
  Tecumseh and the taconite mines in Michigan where
  the mining lubricants were born for mills and
  kilns.

Who is Petron?

• 1980 Petron became the first open gear lubricant
  company to take the lead out of its open gear
  lubricant, Gear Shield NC, which gave us an
  advantage over all other competitors. We were
  also the first to remove the aromatic
  hydrocarbons (1987) as well as chlorinated
  solvents (1991) from our open gear lubricants.

Who is Petron?

• In the early 80s we expanded our marketing of
  mining products first to Minnesota taconite
  mining then by the mid 80s to Eastern Canada
  taconite to late 80s to copper and gold in the
  SW USA and early 90s to select cement plants,
  mostly concentrating on mill and kiln open gears.
  Also in the early 90s we started selective
  marketing to open gear industries in Australia,
  Chile and South Africa. Since 2000 we have made
  major in-roads into Brazil and China. In the
  later part of the 90s we also started concerted
  efforts to promote our shovel products worldwide.

• Petron lubricates 80 of all mill gears in the
  copper, gold, taconite industries of North
  America and 45 of all cement mills and kilns in
  North America.
• Petron lubricates some of the largest, highest
  horsepower, gear sets in the world. Just to name
  a fewEscondida in Chile, Sossego in Brazil,
  Alumbrera in Argentina, Copperton in Utah USA,
  TXI Cement, Midlothian, Texas.
