  • Build a private, secure network.
  • Provide subsidies to reduce cost of internet
  • Provide content and service.

Private, secure network
  • Members only - Kansas hospitals, K-12 schools,
    libraries and higher ed
  • Access to high speed content and services
  • Stable platform for video conferencing

Kan-ed Network
  • Lease lines, facilities and equipment to create a
    backbone
  • Network access points (NAPs) allow ISPs to
    connect directly to the network, minimizing
    tariffs and access fees.

other existing network options

schools and libraries to improve education and
healthcare in Kansas at the lowest possible cost.

Health-care Using teleradiology over the Kan-ed
network, a specialist in Kansas City reviews an
x-ray in Colby almost immediately after its
taken.

Libraries A guest speaker brought in by the
Larned Public Library is heard by an audience in
Garden City.

take a Russian-language course offered only in
the Shawnee Mission School District.
