3Rules of Rehearsal!
- Be On Time To All Rehearsals
- ALWAYS have your Music, Folder, Pencil.
- NO GUM EVER!
- Be conscious of Good Posture at all times.
- Keep your eyes on the Director at all times.
- LISTEN to the director at all times. Talking
while the director is rehearsing or giving
instructions is NEVER appropriate! - CELL PHONES MP3 PLAYERS are not allowed at
rehearsal.
4Rules of Rehearsal!
- Take a MATURE attitude toward correction. Dont
be a Know-it-All - Rehearsals are NOT over until the director
dismisses the choir. Dont begin to put your
music away until instructed to do so. - LISTEN TO BE DISMISSED!!
- Stay focused on the rehearsal from start to
finishChoir is NOT the time for grooming,
catching up on gossip, or doing homework. - Help to keep the classroom neat and orderly.
This classroom is not your locker. Pick up after
yourself, return your folder to its slot. - TEN SECONDS OF SILENCE!!

- Detentions will be issued when the behavior
warrants discipline. - Dont Make Me Angry

9Performances!
- All Students must attend concerts, performances,
and other scheduled events. - Scheduled Rehearsals and Activities ARE
mandatory. - Unexcused Absences result in a 0 for the
activity.
- Students not in proper attire will either be
dismissed from the performance or have points
deducted from their concert attire. - Students are responsible for informing their
parents of their schedule and wardrobe for
activities.
10Abscences...
Because live performances are unique and cannot
be replicated, no excuse will be accepted.
Excused
Unexcused
- Only a Students serious illness, a death in the
family, or a family medical emergency constitutes
an excused absence from a performance or extra
rehearsal. - It is expected that the student will take the
courtesy of notifying the director of any absence
prior to the performance if possible. A signed
note from the parent must be given to the
Director within 24 hours of the students return
to class explaining the reason for the absence.
Failure to do so will constitute and unexcused
absence. - Student is given a MAKE-UP Assignment.
- An unexcused performance absence will constitute
a loss of performance points resulting in a
lowered grade. - An unexcused absence from a performance will
result in a lowering of the quarter grade, and
the possibility of the student being denied
participation of any of the groups
extracurricular activities, such as a trip, or
other special activities that may be planned. - Student is NOT given a MAKE-UP Assignment.
11Spotlight Singers
Dress Code
- ? SPOTLIGHT SINGERS Ladies will wear the chosen
dress uniform for all performances. (Some used
shoes and dresses are available from graduated
members at lower cost.) Sun Beige Silken Mist
hose and Black character shoes are also required.
ABSOLUTELY NO JEWELRY is to be worn with the
exception of class rings and any earrings voted
on by the ensemble. - ? Gentlemen will wear black tuxedo pants, lime
silk shirt with matching tie, black tux shoes,
and black socks for all performances. Shoes are
purchased by the individual.
Mixed Glee
12Mixed Glee
- ? MIXED GLEE Choir Robes will be worn. We will
be assigning a robe to you in the next few weeks
during voice testing. You will always receive
and give your robe to the officers before and
after performances. - ? Under the robes, Ladies wear a dressy as
opposed to casual dress or skirt with dark shoes
and nude hose. Shoes must be closed toe. NO
SANDALS OR FLIP-FLOPS! - ? Gentlemen will dress pants, and shirt with a
collar and tie. Shoes should be dark dress
shoes.

13CENTER STAGE
- ? CENTER STAGE All select members of the vocal
jazz ensemble will perform in all black dress
clothing. - ? Ladies will receive a portion of orange fabric
to incorporate into their outfit. - ? Gentlemen must wear a tie with orange as the
dominant color. - ? A T-Shirt/ Sweatshirt will be designed and
offered for purchase for use in more casual
performances. It is NOT a mandatory purchase.

Dress Code
- ? Golden Harmony T-shirts will be worn for all
performances. Jeans, chuck taylors or white
tennis shoes will be worn for performances
performances. - ? Each voice part wears a different color shirt.
The T-Shirts are at the expense of the member
ranging from 8-10.
15Middle School Choir
- ? MIDDLE SCHOOL CHOIR Both Ladies and Gentlemen
will black pants and a white short-sleeved button
down shirt WITH a collar. (Think white uniform
shirtWal-mart has them RIGHT NOW for less than
10) - ? GMS Music vests will be assigned during voice
testing. Each student will wear the vest with a
black bow tie that is also provided. Black socks
and shoes will also be worn. Shoes must closed
toe with no heal. - ? You will always receive and give your vest and
bow tie to the officers before and after
performances

- Signed Choir Contracts are due on Friday, August
25. - All Choir Performance dates have been sent home.

176th Grade Chorus
- ? SIXTH GRADE CHORUS Both Ladies and Gentlemen
will black pants and a white short-sleeved button
down shirt WITH a collar. (Think white uniform
shirtWal-mart has them RIGHT NOW for less than
10) -
- Neck Ties will be worn by both ladies and
gentlemen. The ties can be as colorful as you
like, Sponge Bob, Flowers, Ohio State.etc. - Black socks and shoes will also be worn. Shoes
must closed toe with no heal.

- Performances 100 points
- Daily Participation 5 points per day (25 per
week) - Make-Up Assignments
- Homework 5-25 points
- Quizzes 50 points
- Music Appreciation Projects 100 points
19Extra Credit!
The extra credit system allows students to ear
points by participating in or attending one or
more of the selected activities. You are limited
to 3 extra credit assignments PER QUARTER!
Examples are
- Theatrical Performances
- Concerts
- Volunteer Work for the FINE ARTS BOOSTERS
- A One time donation of Kleenex to the classroom.
- Church Plays or Performances
After the student is involved in an extra credit
activity, it is the students responsibility to
obtain an extra credit form. The form must be
returned within ONE WEEK of the activity. Each
is worth 10 points.
