What is Advanced Placement?

• AP Program offers the opportunity for high school
  students to earn college credit while still in
  high school.
• The College Board offers 35 college-level exams.
• High school teachers use course guides developed
  by the College Board.

How does AP help students?

• A strong correlation exists between students who
  take and students who pass AP exams and future
  collegiate success in terms of GPA and graduation
  rate.
• Over 90 of the nations colleges have an AP
  policy granting students credit and/or placement
  for qualifying AP exam grades.

New Initiatives

• AP Ambassadors Program at CHS, PHS, and

  as PISDs Diversity Forum

  teachers, AP Leads, a librarian, principals,
  counselors, coordinators, Dr. Eaton, Dr. Porter,

  faculty and student surveys on our program.

  various components of the AP program.
