Powwow Etiquette

• Random walking, running or playing in the Dance
  Arena is prohibited.
• Taping of songs is allowed only if permission has
  been granted by the Head Singer of a Drum.
• Permission to photograph dancers and activities
  must be approved and granted by the powwow
  committee.

• Never, ever pick up someone's gear, regalia, fan,
  
• or other apparel. It is considered very rude
  to do
• so. However, when you ask, most people are
  
• very glad to show their belongings to you.
• Always be careful, some items may have special
  
• religious significance, or have been a
  special
• gift from a well loved friend or parent.

• Also, refrain from handling an item you are being
  shown as any oil or dirt on your hands may damage
  the materials.

• Visitors never enter the Dance Arena during the
  dance session, unless invited by the MC during
  special public dances.
• After the dance, visitors may come into the
  Dance Arena and speak to the singers and dancers.
• If they enjoyed the powwow, visitors may offer
  contributions to those they most admired.
