observation and forecast (METAR TAF) data
(print capability) - Electronically produced Flight Plans (DD175
Military DD1801 International) with
availability for electronic submission to Base
Operations - Seamless interface (E-Base Ops) that
electronically transfers flight plan data from
the Navy-Portable Flight Planning System (N-PFPS)
into FWB

and provide the proper interface for you to use
(Pilot, Forecaster, or Base Operations)
New Automated Account Generation Application
Note Valid DoD PKI certificate required to
access FWB
5To create an account, a user is required to
provide Personal and Account information.
Grayed out areas are opened depending on Branch
of Service and Role pull-down menu selections.
The account User Name will be provided to only
the .mil or .gov email address provided.
6Branch of Service DoD defaults to United States
for Country of Origin.
Preferred Servicing Site The DEFAULT location
(Station ID/ICAO) of the Weather Office that will
complete your Flight Weather Brief.
7Command Type Identifies the category for each
Command(e.g., TRAWING, CVW, HM etc)
8Password Must be 8-12 characters and include at
least one of each of the following UPPER CASE
letter, lower case letter, Numeric figure, (1,
2,3) Special character( ! ).
Note Passwords will auto-notify users to update
(change) their password every 90 days.
9Account Generation Once all entries are
completed and the user selects Request Account,
the User Name will be emailed to the .mil or .gov
email indicated on the account (Note Turnaround
for receipt of user name is dependent on network
performance. In general, expected timeframe is on
the order of a few minutes) All account requests
containing Non-.mil/.gov email addresses will be
forwarded to a System Administrator for
validation and entry or removal
The user is prompted to return to the Login screen
10Foreign Service Uses the same Request Account
interface though some selection options differ.

Log Off Logs the user off of the FWB System.
12Menu Options Home Will return the user to this
screen.
In Box Contains all DD175-1 briefs completed by
a Forecaster.
Out Box Contains all DD175-1 requests the user

Status Console Contains messages of importance
to specific users, generated by system events.
Can also open in a separate window.

Allows the user to complete a DD175 Military
Flight Plan to request a DD175-1 Weather
Brief. DD1801/DD175-1 Allows the user to
complete a DD1801 International Flight Plan to
request a DD175-1 Weather Brief. Canned Route
Allows the user to select an automated Canned
Route / Area Weather Brief.
Personal Data Change user passwords and profiles.
14Menu Options Other Functions METAR/TAF Allows
the user to request observations and forecasts
(METAR TAF) for designated Station
ID/ICAO. Graphic Wx Links Allows the user to
view various graphical images pre-defined by the
Weather Office, and is now site selectable by
Station ID.
WX Office Policies These are the local policies
for the Forecasting Station governing DD175-1
and Canned Route weather briefs, and is also now
site selectable. Blank Forms DD175, DD175-1,
DD1801, DD365-4 (PDF format) Contact Information
Contact information to report application
problems with the software, network, etc.
15In Box Contains all briefs coming from a
forecaster.
NOTE Both In Box and Out Box will have
nothing in it once a new account has been made.
However, for this training we will continue as
if the user has already made a request.

Edit Flight Plan Allows the user to make
changes to the submitted Flight Plan and resubmit
for updates. Extend Allows the user to request
an extension after brief has been finalized by
FDO. Finalize Allows the user to finalize a
received weather brief and print.

print the following in Pdf format.
Flight Plan Allows the user to view their
Flight Plan. Weather Brief Allows the user to
view a Finalized weather brief. FWP Allows the
user to view the Flight Weather Product that
provides the summation of input from both Pilot
and Forecaster for the specific flight. Workflow
Allows the user to view the workflow giving them
a step by step status of their brief request.

This Feature is for users that make daily flights

time, simply click New Brief Request and select
yourtemplate from the drop down menu, changing
information as required.

- - Can only be created by a FWB Administrator.
- - Forecast is valid for a six hour period and is
updated every two hours. - - Forecasters consistently monitor active Canned
Routes. - - Canned Routes are for VFR / VMC only.
- User selects desired Canned Route from the
Select Service Site. - For airfields that close Canned Route is
Opened and updated 2-4 hours - prior to the airfield re-opening.

- Please enter all dates and times in UTC or ZULU
time. - You can place flight weather brief requests days
in advance. It should be finalized 2 hours prior
to your estimated time of departure. - Flimsy number will not be issued until the FDO
completes the brief and the pilot views/prints
the DD 175-1. - If you are at a civilian airfield, call
1-888-PILOTWX to request a military weather
brief.
