26
Top 2004 Wishlist Items
  • Tracking by Rack
  • Improved Tax Handling
  • Create a Billet PO Module. For entering or
importing and maintaining billet PO data.
  • Provide additional Die Maintenance and Correction
features. More accurately track die maintenance
    history.
  • Create additional fields on the Customer
Maintenance screen for shipping and receiving
    hours and load/unload capability.
  • Record the date that items were placed on Plant
    Hold.
  • Create a machine-specific production calendar
  • Add a Quotation Module, allowing creation and
printing of a quotation, saving it, and later
activating it as a Sales Order.
  • Create additional fields on the Customer
Maintenance screen for cell phone, multiple fax
    numbers, etc.
  • Calculate Plan Dates at Order Entry based upon
any department in the routing, not Extrude or
    Ship only.
  • Automatically close orders (set status to 'H')
with a routing ending with 'STOCK'.
  • Allow a one-time or manual method for selecting a
Ship-to customer (shipping to a customer who does
not have a record on the Customer Maintenance
    screen).
  • Provide a method to automatically be notified of
available stock inventory and to Fill-From-Stock
    from the Order Entry screen.
  • Track Die Box contents. Maintain die box
    inventory, planning, history.
  • When a user changes the extrusion date for an
item on the QBE Items screen, use this date and
the department lead times to recalculate the
    other plan dates.
  • Save the Extrusion runout for each billet size
used by each press production posting.
  • Receive billets by cast number with chemical
    composition.
  • Store manual adjustments to on-hand billet
    inventory as logged positive/negative usage
    transactions.
  • Separate the SOItemNum field in the SOChangeLog.
This would allow easier identification of changes
    to individual items.

27
Order Tracking Improvements
  • SOItem.PlantHoldDt records date an item was
    placed on plant hold
  • Mark stock items complete (Status H) once you
    have stocked the ordered qty
  • Allow posting scrap on packing screen for items
that include STOCK but not PACK

28
User Interface Improvements
  • Show only Bill-To customers in right-click list
on CS Inquiry and Part screens
  • Ask user if they want to immediately add a copy
    to a newly created Die
  • Automatically set StdCopyNum to the first DieCopy
    added to a Die
  • Add ToolTips to Advanced Order Entry

29
New Configuration Settings
  • gPackWtAutoCalculate allows automatic bundle
    weight calculations
  • gMaxShift sets the highest allowable production
    shift number
  • gPressRateMaxPct and gPressRateMinPct define of
lifetime wt/hr that triggers a warning at the
    press

30
Miscellaneous Changes
  • Import CSV file data into EPICS database
  • Save button on Show All screen exports data to
    a CSV file
  • Record manual changes made to billet inventory in
    Billet History table
  • New pricing units Price/Theoretical
    Lb _at_ Price/Theoretical Kg

31
Miscellaneous Changes (continued)
  • Allow scrapping of some or all of an inventory
    bundle from Maintain Stock screen
  • One-click creation of offsetting Invoices or
    Credits
  • Adjust Part Prices screen
  • Permit percentage price changes on Adjust
    Selected Prices screen

  • Chris Delzell

34
CSV file
  • Comma Separated Values
  • Can be created by Excel, Access, and many other
    applications.

35
Creating the CSV file.
  • First line contains field names.
  • Field names in CSV match field names in the
    SOEntry table.
  • No particular order.
  • Data lines follow header format.
  • Only Five required fields.
  • CustBill
  • Part
  • CustPO
  • OrdQty
  • OrdUnit

36
Example of a CSV file
37
Import New Sales Order from CSV file Screen

39
Modify with Order Entry
40
Other Features
  • Apply system base price to non-extrusion orders -
parts with a non-extrusion routing will be
    charged the standard base price.
  • Save grid data to file - used if some items
cannot be created due to incomplete information.

41
Master Workorders
  • John Stenger

42
Master Workorders
  • Combines many small-quantity workorders into a
single Master Workorder (MWO) that can be viewed
    or printed
  • All components of an MWO are automatically tied
    together on the press schedule
  • Production is posted against an MWO as a single
    entry
  • EPICS allocates the individual item quantities
    automatically

43
EPICS V8 Production Flow using Master Workorders
  • Enter and post new sales orders.
  • Scan for small lots and Create MWOs
  • Calculate (and print) workorders
  • Schedule the press
  • Post press production

44
Creating Master Workorders
45
Scan for small lots and create Master Workorders
  • Lots can be combined if they share the same Die,
    Alloy, Temper, and Extrude length
  • Selected lots are assigned the same MWONum (using
    NextNum table)
  • When scanning for workorders to print, all
components of an MWO will be selected any time a
    single lot is selected
  • Ditto for the Press Schedule screen
