• Maintain Profitability

Improve Quality

• Beginning July 1st 2007 all snacks must be SB12
  (35/10/35) compliant
• These products are healthier but come at a higher
  cost than most regular snack products
• All our snacks meet the 35/10/35 rule

Improve Quality

• High quality fresh produce comes at a large
  expense
• We are offering and students are eating more
  fresh fruits vegetables
• We also serve more whole grains, which cost more
  than standard pastas

Implement Green Solutions

• School organizations, parents and staff members
  have requested a change from foam trays to
  biodegradable trays or reusable plastic trays
• Cost of foam trays 0.03 cents each
• Cost of biodegradable trays 0.07 cents each
• Cost of reusable trays 0.31 cents for 9yrs 10th
  year down to 0.05

Keep Up With Inflation

• Since the last price increase, labor, medical and
  gas costs have all increased
• Although food costs were lower last year than in
  04, they have been increasing each year since
• Our total expenditures have increased by 13 and
  continue to climb

Maintain Profitability Means

• We stay self supporting

• We do not affect the districts general funds
