3After the terrible destruction of the war in
2006, prospects for the Lebanese people were, and
remain, bleak. In a country left crippled by
debt after the war of the 70s and 80s, the
aftermath of this recent conflict went much
further it rocked the stability and hope of the
Lebanese and a whole new generation of children.

where the other parent is unable to provide for
them.

provides disabled children and young adults (aged
3-35) in the Lebanese community with access to
opportunities they would not otherwise have.

16All students follow a personalised programme of
learning to suit their individual needs. Many of
the students come to the Centre with little or no
education.
Work-related skills are taught to the older
students and, if appropriate, some are helped to
find employment in their local community.

Education and a social worker, and provides the
children with a midday meal as well as education
and training.

accepted in Lebanese society, the centre also
supports families, showing them the best ways of
caring for their child and giving them advice
about medical and government benefits.

students with learning difficulties the chance to

receive the individual attention that they need.

21As well as following the Lebanese educational
curriculum, the students are taught a wide range
of additional subjects, including languages,
Bible studies and social skills.
