History

• Sonata Arctica was born in 1996, in the northern
  Finnish town of Kemi. The very first name was
  Tricky Beans.
• Tricky Beans became Sonata Arctica when they
  released their first album Ecliptica in 1999.
• Nowadays Tony Kakko (singing), Jani Liimatainen
  (guitar), Marko Paasikoski (bass), Tommy Portimo
  (drums) and Henrik Klingberg (keyboards) play in
  Sonata Arctica

Sonata Arctica abroad

• Sonata Arctica is very famous in Japan and
  Germany
• The band played its first four concerts in Japan
  in September 2001.
• Sonata Arctica toured Europe with Nightwish in
  arenas with capacities up to 12 000 people
