Professional Development Clearinghouse (PDC)
The purpose of the PDC is to evaluate all courses
and sessions that impact administrators and
teachers for
  • Duplication of training services
  • Scheduling conflicts
  • Consistency in quality and
  • Alignment to district goals.

PDC Qualification Criteria
  • Courses with a prefix that fall under the
    auspices of Academic Services (including all
    regional offices) and
  • Courses that do not have a qualifying prefix but
    have sessions targeted for administrators or
    teachers.

  • PDC Committee approves/disapproves course
    proposals and sends applicable correspondence to
    responsible individuals (i.e., department,
    region, schools).
  • Operations Update e-TRAIN with courses that have
    been approved.
  • Employees Request registration for courses that
    are aligned with district goals and do not
    present any scheduling conflicts or duplication.

PDCTimeline
The PDC committee is scheduled to begin
reviewing course proposals in July 2006. All
course proposals for the Fall of 2006 should be
created in PeopleSoft between June 1, 2006 and
June 30, 2006.

The PDC committee will

    proposals
  • Work closely with the impacted department/region
    and
  • Offer suggestions for incorporating mandated
    training with other approved courses.

Planning ContingenciesWhat Ifs
  • What if the course and session have been approved
    but the date and time need modifying? The PAD
    will be required to create a new session for PDC
    approval.
  • What if the course is Fee-for-Service, does it
    require approval from the PDC? Yes, all courses
    that fall under the CAO or target campus
    personnel will require PDC approval.
