  • Certified 501(c)(3), Non-Profit Organization
  • Based in Pensacola, Florida
  • Mission Train and prepare at-risk youths for
    adult life through educational resources, sports,
    mentoring, and tutoring

Mentoring
  • GoGirlGo!
  • Boys Mentoring Program

GoGirlGo!
  • This program is for girls in 3rd 8th grades.
  • We plan to service 200 girls enrolled in
    elementary and middle schools in Santa Rosa and
    Escambia Counties
  • We will us the Womens Sports Foundations
    GoGirlGo! curriculum
  • The GoGirlGo! project combines physical activity
    with an educational intervention that focuses on
    reducing and preventing health-risk behaviors.
  • In 2004 and again in 2006, the GoGirlGo!
    curriculum received a Gold Award from the
    National Health Information Awards.
  • The girls in the program will receive 8 hours of
    mentoring per month

Boys Mentoring
  • We have established a boys mentoring program at
    Bellview Middle School
  • We plan to service 20 young men in the 2007-08
    school year
  • The program is designed to focus on academic
    achievement, personal development, and physical
    activity

NFL Youth Flag Football
  • From your description of your program, I believe
    you have the best NFL Flag program in the
    country. I want to commend you and your staff for
    operating such a unique and outstanding program.

  • Our league begins after the FCAT is administered
    and spring break.
  • The league is coed with three (3) age divisions
    8 and under, 9-14, and 15-17. We plan to service
    120 youths in various counties in our 2008
    season.

  • Sunday tutoring for players and cheerleaders
  • Game DVDs
  • Practice policy

Youth Track and Field
  • Our track and field program is sponsored by
    faith-based organizations, Mr. Justin Gatlin, and
    the United States of America Track and Field
    (USATF) Foundation.
  • The program is open to elementary aged youths
    (boys and girls) who either attend or is a member
    one of the sponsoring faith-based organizations.
  • We plan to service 150 youths.
  • All track meets are held at Pensacola Junior
    College. Participants are encouraged to practice
    at Bellview Middle School.
  • The goal of the program is introduce track and
    field to the youths and help them become more
    physically active in an effort to combat the
    epidemic of childhood obesity.

3-on-3 Back-2-School Basketball
  • The event will be conducted annually the weekend
    before public school starts
  • Teams must be co-ed and consist of no more than
    five (5) youths
  • The age groups for the teams are 1) 9-11, 12-14,
    and 15-18.
  • We expect 180 youths to participate in the
    tournament.
  • The entry fee is 30 per team. The winning team
    will receive a cash prize of 100.

Boxing
  • Linking Arms has partnered with RSC Enterprises
    and the Pensacola Boxing Academy.
  • Together, we will select seven (7) area youths to
    receive free boxing lessons for one year.
  • The youths must complete an application,
    interview, and records review.

Cheerleading
  • Linking Arms Cheerleading is a year-long
    commitment.
  • Cheerleaders are expected to perform at the NFL
    Youth Flag Football games, the 3-on-3
    Back-2-School basketball tournament, and in
    competitions (local and national).
  • We expect to have 15 cheerleaders each year.
  • Applications are accepted from October 1st
    October 31st each year.

Academic Tutoring
  • Buckle Down Series
  • 21st Century Community Learning Center (CCLC)

21st CCLC
  • We have partnered with the Escambia County School
    District, Spencer Bibbs Elem, O. J. Semmes Elem,
    and Ensley Elem.
  • We will service a total of 150 students with the
    21st CCLC funding.
  • Students will receive sessions in recreation,
    academic tutoring, and character development.

Buckle Down Series
  • We will use Options Publishings Buckle Down
    Series to tutor students in the 21st CCLC program
  • The Buckle Down Series is aligned with each
    respective states high stakes testing.

Linking Arms Community Center (LACC)
  • Open every Sunday night for area high school aged
    teensproof of age must be presented each visit.
  • Summer and afterschool tutoring will be starting
    in the fall 2007.
  • Will offer computer applications, web search, and
    Internet safety course to all ages starting in
    the fall 2007.
  • Over 1,000 youths frequent our facility each
    month.

    organization in Escambia County.

    tutors, and coaches.
