  with those who need to know

• - Regardless, whether you wish to accept or
  reject the offer, the option form must be
  completed and submitted to the General Office by
  today if not latest by 26 Dec 2009.
• - Students who are appealing to other school
  are still required to send in submit the form to
  us. This is so as you would only know the outcome
  of your appeal on 31Dec 2009.

• - Sec 3 4, in school, during curriculum
  
• For HML and HTL, lessons are conducted in the
  afternoons there will be clashes with our CCAs
  / extra lessons. Still, if you are really
  interested in the HMTL, do seriously consider
  taking it up

Third Languages

• Students who are eligible and have applied to
  study either one of the Third Languages, will
  receive the outcome of their application from
  their Orientation Group Teachers.
• Students who are successful, have to register at
  the Zonal Centre where they have been posted to
  on Tuesday 30 Dec 2008 from 0830 1700hrs.
• Failure to register would mean that you do not
  wish to accept the offer.

Bus Passes

• 2009s Sec 1 students can continue to use their
  Primary School Smart Cards (SSCs) for
  concessionary travel till end March 2009
• Students can still buy the Bus Concession Pass
  (BCP) and enjoy concessionary travel
• However, they would need to purchase the BCP for
  secondary school students

Financial Assistance

• MOE policy is that students should not be
  deprived of programmes because of inability to
  pay
• Obtain forms from General Office and submit asap
  with supporting documents
• Students on FA get free textbooks, waiver of
  School Fees and 1st Tier Miscellaneous Fees

  income lt 1,500 for 1 / 2 children
  or lt 1,800 for 3 / more children
• School Financial Assistance - for gross household
  income lt 2,000 or lt 500 income per head

First 3 Days (Fri, Mon, Tue)

• Eat a good breakfast and drink a lot of water
• Dress in PE shirt and shorts (pri sch / Swiss)
  and white shoes standard school haircuts
• Bring only essential items Orientation Folder,
  water bottle, about 5-10, writing materials, no
  handphones, cameras, spare set of PE attire
• Report to hall by 7.15 for flag-raising
• Administration teachers will collect all the
  forms and 4.50 (for photo-taking for Report
  Book, class photo list, etc)
• Students will go through the Orientation Prog

• Team-bonding Games

• Tea Break and Lunch Break
• Final Strike Grand finale to orientation
• Re-grouping into form class
• Dismissal at 3 pm on both days
• Confirmed classes will be known on Tuesday

When lessons start (Wed 7 Jan)

• Get a good haversack, with padded straps
• Pack bags so they are as light as possible
• At lesson time, teachers will tell students what
  to bring for lessons
• Our advice is for students to bring their books
  back so they can study at home
• Deep learning takes place during self-study
• This is our advice there is no compulsion
• Dictionaries, CME files can be left in class
