- This league is run by volunteers
- The only people we pay are our umpires in our
Majors and Seniors divisions - Head Coach
- Is responsible for running the team
- Schedules and plans practices
- Dont need to know much about baseball we will
teach and guide you! - Assistant Coach
- Assists the Head Coach with all of the duties of
the team - Team Parent
- Assists the Head Coach by making telephone calls
to players regarding cancellation of practices,
games, and events - Takes care of all paperwork such as Medical
Release Forms and Parent Code of Conduct

20No Volunteers? Now What?
- No Head Coach?
- The number of teams in the division are reduced
- Players are stacked onto teams 15 17 players
per team is possible - Results in less playing time and a less enjoyable
experience for everyone involved - No Assistant Coach?
- Head Coach cannot do it alone
- Kids will suffer because they only have one coach
teaching them - One coach means no one-on-one attention to help
make a child better - Game day is a mess and disorganized. Players have
to coach the bases - No Team Parent?
- Head coach can handle all of the paperwork and
phone calls but it will ultimately take away time
from practices and games - No Help in the Concession Stand?
- Concession stand may be closed on certain days
due to no one being able to work

- Equipment and Uniforms
- All teams receive equipment for use throughout
the season - Catchers gear, helmets, bats, and balls
- All children receive a replica hat, a uniform

26What Do We Need to Buy?
- Baseball / Softball Glove
- A good test to see if the glove is too heavy is
to put it on your childs hand and have them hold
it straight up in the air - To break in a glove, you can use a few different
methods - Run it over with your car
- Put shaving cream in it and tie it with an
elastic - Buy the cream from the store
- Put it under a bed mattress, sofa, or pillow
- Baseball / Softball Pants
- On April 4, the coach will tell you what color
pants that your child will need for the upcoming
season - Baseball / Softball Cleats
- No metal spikes are allowed
- Can be found at any sporting goods store
- Bat (Optional)
- For Majors Division and below, please make sure
it clearly states that it has BPF of 1.15 - Seniors Division can only be 2 3/4 diameter

School - 6.00 admission charge for anyone who enters the
cafeteria - Find out what team your child is on and meet your
coach - Pasta meal with dessert included
- Walk around entertainment throughout the
evening - Practices begin
- Practices will begin on Saturday, April 4 at 900
AM - Coach will give you schedule at the Pasta Dinner

- Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19
- Opening Day Ceremonies will take place on

28Rain? What Do We Do?
- Depends On Field Conditions
- Will not make any cancellations until at least 2
hours before game - If you do not hear from your coach show up at

34Fall Ball
- Training and Development Program
- The focus is not on winning and losing instead,
we focus on developing players, coaches, and
umpires - Practices begin in the middle of August. Games
begin in September and run through the end of
October. A 14 16 game schedule is typical - Fall Ball is usually a traveling program 8
games are played in New Britain and 8 games are
played in surrounding towns such as Berlin,
Plainville, Southington, Newington, Farmington,
and others - We have experienced tremendous growth in Fall
Ball over the past several years which might
allow us to play all of our games in New Britain

- Board of Directors Plans for Upcoming Season
- At the annual meeting, a new Board of Directors
is elected for upcoming season - Board of Directors elects officers amongst
themselves. Meetings begin immediately. - Board of Directors meet once or twice a month
throughout the entire year - Not an easy job but someone has to do it! More
help is needed!

Coach - Speak to your coach often and if you have any
concerns, let him or her know! - Dont do it on the field during practice or a
game make an appointment with them to talk! - Follow the Parent Code of Conduct
- Parent Code of Conduct is required to be signed
by at least one parent in a family
