HCI Grouping When The User Offers No Options
Reasoning Behind Our Design
As the user has no idea about what how to choose
options that will meet her requirements, we think
it will help her if the web site displays the
products of TabletPC already structured by groups
based on certain primal characteristics like
portability, multimedia features or performance.
However, the products are always sorted by
ratings in each group. The first page consists
the best rating proposed by PriceGrabber.com.
Nevertheless, if the user is not satisfied by the
results proposed by the web site, she has the
option to click on the  more button which
redirects her immediately to another page with
more choices. Few products could not be rated.
The user can begin a new comparison based this
time on the all available products which are
selling on the site! The advantage of this kind
of interface is what we also called
explanation-based display. The user knows
immediately why this product is being considered
as one of the best. It might be because of its
good performance, or its portability or
something else. This method allows to generate a
convincing effect on the users mind.
