Using Study Island at Home

• All students at Randolph have been registered to
  use Study Island.
• To begin, log on to www.studyisland.com
• The user name is the students firstname.lastname_at_
  charlotte. Ex. John.doe_at_rms
• The password is study.
• Click Login.

When the student logs in, the My Class page will
appear. There may be more than one class
available for the student. The student will
click on the class for which they will be
completing an assignment.

Next, the student should click on the assignment
title they will be completing.

An assignment may have several topics open.
Students must complete the Pretest before
attempting other topics. They should only do the
pretest one time. Before beginning to work on a
topic, it is helpful to review the lesson. Click
on the blue lesson beside the topic.

A brief overview of the topic will pop up. The
student can minimize this screen so that they can
refer back to it as they work.

Modes of Study

• There are three modes of study available in
  session type.
• Test, Printable Worksheet, and Games

Test Mode

• In test mode, the problems are multiple choice or
  fill in the blank.

• Students click on the answer and get immediate
  feedback as to whether it is right or wrong.

Game Mode

• Game mode is not available until the student has
  completed the assignment in test mode once.
• If the student has a cumulative score of at least
  60, games will be available.

Printable Worksheets

• Printable Worksheets will generate a document
  that can be printed for extra practice.
• These worksheets will put approximately 3-4
  problems on one sheet.

• Study Island generates reports that the teacher
  can use to monitor students progress.
• Work at school and at home is reflected on the
  reports.
• As a student passes topics, they will earn a blue
  ribbon. A ribbon will be displayed next to the
  topic.
• If a student is struggling with a topic, a lower
  level of the same topic will become available.
  The student can use this building block to help
  them achieve success.

• Parents and students can also view reports to
  monitor progress.
• When a student logs in, they get the following
  screen

• To view reports, the student should click on the
  appropriate grade level on the left.

• A new screen will open and the available reports
  will be listed
