  • Ms. Blackwell was elected to the Board in 2004
    and begins her second term in January.
  • Lisa and her husband have four children, a son
    and daughter attending Lakeland High School, a
    son who attends White Lake Middle and a daughter
    who attends Lakewood Elementary.

  • Mr. Branstetter is serving his second term as a
    Board member.
  • He is a resident of Highland Township and a Board
    member since 2001. John and his wife have a

  • Ms. Squires was first elected in 1995, and is
    serving her fourth term as a Board member.
  • Debbie lives in Milford. She has three sons, two
    who graduated from Lakeland High School and one

  • Ms. Beam was first elected to the Board in 2002,
    and is now serving her second term as a Board
    member.
  • Ms. Beam is a resident of Commerce Township. She
    and her husband have a son at Lakeland High and a
    daughter at Oak Valley Middle School.

New HVS Administrators
  • Kevin McKenna comes to Muir from Milford High
    School where he was assistant principal since
    2006.  Prior to becoming assistant principal, Mr.
    McKenna was a high school and middle school
    teacher for six years. 
  • He is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University
    with a Bachelor of Science degree and received
    his Masters in Education Leadership from EMU in
    August 2005.  He also holds an Administrator
    Certificate from the State of Michigan.

  • Jill McDonald is the new Oxbow Community School
    principal.  Ms. McDonald comes to Oxbow from
    White Lake Middle School where she was assistant
    principal since 2005. 
  • Prior to joining the White Lake staff, she was
    associate principal at Lakeland High School for
    four years.  She received her Bachelor of Science
    in Education from Central Michigan University and
    her M. Ed. in Educational Leadership from Saginaw
    Valley State University.

  • Dr. Deirdre Brady is the new principal for
    Heritage Elementary.   Dr. Brady comes to
    Heritage from Country Oaks Elementary School
    where she was the Lead Teacher / Building Support
    Coordinator since 2006. 
  • Dr. Brady has her doctorate in educational
    leadership, her Bachelor of Science in Education
    degree from Bowling Green State University, her
    M.Ed. and Ed. S. and Ph. D. from Oakland
    University.

  • Eric Dziobak comes to Milford High School from
    Highland Middle School where he has been a
    teacher since 1994.  
  • He received his Bachelors of Science in Education
    and Masters of Arts in Educational Administration
    and Community Leadership from Central Michigan
    University, and most recently graduated from the
    Aspiring Principals Leadership Academy.

Kindergarten Vision Screening forStudents
Entering Kindergarten
Michigan Law (Public Health Code, Act 368, and
Michigan School Code, Act 291) requires a vision
screening for incoming kindergarten. Vision
screening done by a health department technician,
a physician or an eye doctor fulfills this
requirement. Oakland County Health Division
offers free vision screening for County
