Who goes camping with Cub Scouts?

Leaders
  • Cub Scouts must meet two-deep leadership same as
    Boy Scouts
  • General camping trips, a guardian must attend
    with the youth
  • May be first time in the woods themselves
  • One leader in the group must have gone through
    Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO)
  • Lots of questions, but full of enthusiasm

  • Planned by the pack
  • Involves several familes from the pack
  • Mist be help on council-owned or council-approved
    properties
  • Program must be age appropriate

  • Organized on the council level
  • Involves more than one pack
  • Cub can only participate if guardian participates
    too
  • Facility must meet National Standards for Council

  • Organized by the District
  • Involves more than one pack
  • District provides program
  • Pack does the cooking

Webelos Overnighter
  • Purpose is to introduce Webelos to Boy Scout
    camping method
  • Webelos encouraged to visit their home troop at
    district or council events

Cub Webelos Resident Camp
  • Organized by the council
  • Theme oriented
  • Has program areas for Wlves, Bears, and Webelos
    to work on advancement and activity pins
  • Tiger Cubs encouraged to visit, but cannot spend
    the night
  • Camp and program area directors must be National
    Camp School (NCS) certified

  • These ratios go beyond the two-deep leadership
    requirements

  • Operated by the District or Council
  • Program for Tigers, Wolves, Bears, and Webelos
  • Cannot contain overnight activities

  • Train Chapters in best methods
  • Collect data
  • Who wants to help?
  • Which packs want assistance?
  • Educate pack leadership through Roundtables and
    mailings
  • Be careful not to overload yourself
