13Most Common Complaint
- Traveler rating 2 out of 5 stars
- Sturbridge Old Sturbridge Village Nice, but.
May 25, 2003 Breem90_at_yahoo.com, Norwich, NY - I felt there should have been more villagers
milling about, talking to vacationers like myself
as if this were a true to life recreation of an
old village. I felt the admission price was WAY
overpriced at 20.00 for adults. The gift shops
were also overpriced, making both getting into
the village and buying a small souvenir out of
the price range of cash strapped vacationers with
even a modest family in tow.
14Financial Problems
- Due to a decrease in admissions and budget cuts,
village trustees carried out the following
financial steps
- 2003 OSV lowered the cost of admission and cut
back employee hours. - This year their traditional Thanksgiving feast is
cancelled for the first time since the 1950s. - Oliver Wight Tavern to close on Jan. 1, 2006.
- Functions were called off and more than a dozen
weddings cancelled. - OSV Lodges will close.
