Our Tadpole Diary

• We have been watching our Tadpoles grow. Mrs Lee
  brought us some frogspawn from her pond, Mrs
  Coates has fed them and Mrs Renshaw has been
  taking pictures of them with our microscope.

On the first day the eggs were just tiny dots in
a jelly.

On day 2 they had changed shape.

On day 5 they looked like little commas.

On day 6 he was outside his jelly egg and was
busy eating.

On day 7 he grew some gills

On day 8 we could see his feathery gills very
clearly.

Week 2 His gills are just beginning to
disappear.

Week 2 We think we can just see an eye.

Week 3 Can you see his eyes and his nostrils?

Week 3 This tadpole is upside down. We can see
his mouth.

Week 5. We think we can see a small leg.

Week 5 his legs began to grow.

By the end of week 5 he had 2 lovely legs.

Week 6. We saw 2 little bumps forming each side
of his head.
16
By the end of week 6 he had all 4 legs.
