One boys story
He was born in Czechoslovakia 2nd January 1928.
He was a normal boy that had to experience
things that you would never even want to
imagine.

How would you feel.

• if people hated you for your religion and you
  were cut off from the rest of the community
  because of rules.
• How would you like to be told where you have to
  live and then taken away from your home to your
  death?
• Well that is just what happened to many Jews just
  like Petr Ginz.

Transported..

• to a place he didnt know, practically
  starved..
• .but Petr had his own little secret.

Terezin

• Petr Ginz during the Holocaust was based in
  Terezin.
• While he was there he was the editor of vedem,
  a newspaper written by children.
• During his time in the base he produced a
  drawing, moon landscape.

A little imagination..

• . and a few resources made this amazing drawing
  of one boys vision of what earth looks like from
  space.
• It took 60 years before it was truly appreciated
  and a copy was taken on the first Israeli journey
  to the moon.
• It is ironic that the astronaut is a son of an
  Auschwitz survivor.

He was an individual.
With a family but remember that the Holocaust is
not about how many people died but it is about
the individuals like Petr Ginz who can be
remembered individually.
