Historical Overveiw
  • In March 1st 1803 Ohio was a official state as
    the 17th state. The first people in present day
    Ohio arrived about 12,000 B.C., while glaciers
    still covered the region. The Paleo Indians,
    lived by using spears to kill prehistoric animals
    such as mammoths and mastodons. The Mound
    Builders, who inhabited the area from about
    600b.c. to 500a.d. . They built thousands of
    burial mounds and other earthworks. The largest
    mound found was 1,200 ft tall. In 1669, the
    French explorer René Robert Cavelier, sieur de La
    Salle and Louis Jolliet were probably the first
    the Europeans to go to Ohio.

  • For maybe the beautiful scenery like the great
    lake Erie covers 9,910 square miles. It is at the
    top of Ohio and at the bottom of Canada. You can
    also visit the historical sites of the Paleo
    Indians and learn there way of life. In the city
    of Columbus is where the Columbus zoo which has
    one of the largest collection of reptiles. Also
    you can visit the Ohio river which is the largest
    river in Ohio. I hope enjoy it and have a good
