What are Den Leaders Saying?
9
I think it has been a great year! Everything is
laid out and makes things so much easier. I
started the year with 11 boys and I still have
all 11. Bear DL- Indianapolis, IN Overall I
love the program. It is nice to have the lessons
well laid out, so from a leaders perspective, I
find this to be much better than just trying to
pull together a meeting out of my hat. Den Leader
10
The pilot program is very helpful for a busy
leader like myself. Overall, a good
program. Webelos DL, Omaha, NE Speaking for my
two assistants and myself, in addition to
promoting advancement, we have found the program
beneficial in that it takes much of the burden
off of us to plan den meeting activities. Den
Leader, St. Louis, MO
11
Other great features of the program
  • Easy to follow, complete meeting plans
  • Parents are more likely to become and stay
    leaders
  • Increased communication
  • Each boy advances in rank each year
  • Improved meeting attendance
  • More boys staying in Scouts

12
Family Dynamics Retention
13
Format of Den meetings revolved around 4 den
meetings per month
14
Todays Families
15
Most dens meet twice per month.
16
Parents face choices
Hope for positive engagement
Is Johnny making the choice alone?

18
Advancement in the Cub Scout Program
  • Premises and Observations
  • The Cub Scout program is as relevant in the lives
of boys today as it has ever been.
  • Advancement in the program leads to retention.

19
  • Den meetings and pack activities are ideal
settings for completing most achievements and
    electives.
  • Advancement today is rarely completed in the home
    with Mom and Dad.

20
  • The Den Leader Award gives leaders the incentive
to have Scouts advance in rank.
  • Den leaders have highly praised this format.
